celebrity madness!!1
the recent furore over the alleged racist remarks on shilpa shetty by jane goddy and other participants in the channel 4 show big brother was unessecrily hyped up by the news hungry media. The comments, though certainly rude seemed hardly racial.the comments had nothing in them to provoke a shake up in indo-british ties.we rise our voices against these stupid programmes, fall prey to such gimmicks engineered to draw eyeballs .in our own lives however,we prefer not to rent out flats to black Africans,do not allow nearly a 3rd of our population to drink water from the same wells that we do,discriminate against people from the north east in many ways and the list goes on…..has any voice been raised when innocent Asians/Africans were beaten up or shot dead just because some idiot taught of them as terrorists.my point mainly is that these are basically moves created by the trp hungry tv channels to grab a few eyeballs.otherwise who can explain ndtv’s breaking news lead, one Monday morning reporting shettys victory in the competition.had it not been for this stupid controversy this news would have just been a small ticker in the entertainment section.racism needs to be tackled but in a much more sensible and strict manner, rather than by jingositic comments

the racist allegation against shilpa is just another incident that shows out how the media manipulates its influence over the billions of people. for the past few days, here in kerala there has been a great deal of talk that the wife of the home minister, kodiyeri balakrishnan, who is the member of the cpi[m] lead govt, conducted pooja in kadampuzha temple for thier children. kodiyeri, like any other leftist, opposed strongly. his wife, at first said that she is a believer, but now she says she hasnt done the pooja. finally, there has come out the original balakrishnan who did the pooja. why is the media like this? isnt it supposed to bring out news rather than controversies over the silliest of the matters? personally, i have felt that the media just wants to start of some thing when they run out of eye-catching news. this incident i mentioned about, makes me feel as if, the balakrishnan is a patented name of the home mister of kerala. the media acts like they dint know there exists thousands or atleast hundreds of other balakrishnans.
